We will be attending the Motorhome Expo in Hamilton 2010, the event starts on Thursday the 11th till Sunday the 14th. If you are attending, come and see us, section 114 in the travel & tourism section.

Private Box will be closed on Friday the 26th of February.

From the development team: Over the coming weeks you will be seeing our credit card system change and as such we have asked our hosts to take accountability of the upgrades of our servers (instead of the developers). We (perhaps naively) thought this would have very little impact on our customers - as we thought they were already hardened to the point where there shouldn't be any difference. Our hosts upgraded our database server and subsequently the database encryption algorithm was changed. Unfortunately, we didn't know this was going to happen and were as surprised as you were when our logins failed. Resetting your password created a new password with the new algorithm and some users had already done this. So we were face with a choice of either continuing with the new algorithm and requiring some users to change there password, or rolling back to the previous version and requiring some customers to change their password! As you can see, we didn't have much choice! Had we known that this was going to occur we would have managed the process and perhaps implemented a period where both algorithms were used to have the least impact on you, our customers.

We are very sorry that we did not provide any notice of this upgrade and the resultant problems. This would have no doubt caused each of you some inconvenience. We hope everyone has now changed there password successfully, please get contact with Privatebox if you are having any issues.

In order to keep our services safe from international fraud, we are looking at removing a few risky countries from our mail forwarding service. The country we are looking at right now is Vietnam. We are also considering removing the forwarding service from most of Africa too.

We have not made any final decisions yet, however we would like your input on the potential changes to our services.
