- How can I pay Private Box?
We accept most major credit cards, bank wire/transfers, Wester Union, cheques and cash payments.
Accepted Credit Cards
All card data is encrypted and truncated ensuring that no one will have access to your information.
Bank Wire / Deposit
All bank transfers can be processed within 24 hours.
To setup a payment please submit the form in your account.
Cheque / Money Order
Can take anywhere from 1-2 weeks to arrive via post,
your account will be credited when we receive payment.
- Understand more about GST
Good and Services Tax (GST) is a tax that is applied to all good and services supplied within New Zealand. Currently (2012) this is set at 15%. You will find all prices on this website include this GST. If you are not a NZ resident for tax purposes all prices are zero rated (eg. GST is excluded).
GST included transitions, The following transactions have GST (15.0% tax) included:
When the customer is a NZ resident: Mail Box rental, National (NZ) mail forwarding, Mail scanning and manual transactions.
GST excluded transactions, all international postage is GST exempt. This includes:
International Economy, Air and Express (DHL) services.
And any other transaction when it is deemed that the user is non-resident in New Zealand for tax purposes.
- Why are some transactions split?
Learn why you may see a double (split) transaction for the same item.
For example you have $10 in your account and we charge you $20 for your mailbox rental (and you are deemed to be a tax resident in NZ). The $10 credit will be included in
our GST records and therefore the $20 transactions will be split.
The remaining $10 (eg. the negative amount) will be split into our waiting transactions and will not count towards GST payments (to Inland Revenue Department in New Zealand) until the account is returned to credit.
Why do we split these transactions?
Private Box operates on a prepaid only basis. Splitting a transaction ensures we don't pay the tax on a transaction we may not actually receive from the customer (for example, if the customer never tops up again).

Auto Top Up
To ensure that your mail is processed on time we can automatically keep your account topped up.
When you make you first card payment you are asked a minimum balance and how much you would like to top up by. Private Box Ltd will automatically debit your card when your balance falls below the limit you have set. If you do not want to store your card, you can easily remove your card.
Auto top up security
We use Paystation Limited for processing our credit and debit card payments. They are an independent, industry-accredited merchant who securely manage payments and registered cards for us. Private Box does not see or store your credit card details at any point.

Your payment details have the security offered by Paystation Limited, a fully AIS PCI DSS compliant Paymark Certified Solutions Provider (CSP), using 128-bit SSL encryption. Credit Card or Pago Wallet details will be sent directly to the acquiring institution for processing. Private Box does not see or store your credit card details at any point.
