The five ways you can pick up your mail are:
1. Visit our Wellington or Auckland office in person
2. Use the Collect my Parcel service via NZ Post
3. Use the NZ Post Counter Delivery service
4. Have our team forward the mail to your current location
5. Read it online
1. Pickup from Private Box
You can visit Private Box at our two offices – depending which address you are using and where your mail is stored.
Wellintong: Level 1, 6 Johnsonville Road, Johnsonville, Wellington 6037
Auckland: Unit A, Ground Floor, 26 Hobson Street, Auckland Central, Auckland 1010
Both our offices are open between 10 am and 2 pm, Monday to Friday. Our office is closed on Weekends and Public Holidays.
Please make sure you bring a photo ID and are listed on the account as someone with the authority to collect mail. If you need the authority to collect mail, simply have the account administrator contact our team and we can update the authorised people on your account.
2. Using Collect my Parcel with NZ Post
You can have your mail sent to the closest Parcel Collect location.
Despite the name, it is not just for parcels. Parcel Collect is an NZ Post service that allows you to collect your mail from over 200 participating retailers. Locations include NZ Post Retailers (these are often bookshops, pharmacies, dairies, etc.), CourierPost Depots, participating Countdown supermarkets and Z Energy stations.
You do need to apply to use this service with NZ Post, and you can sign up for Collect my Parcel here.
The benefit of Parcel Collect is that you get an email notification once your item has arrived and is ready for collection.
Parcels must be collected within 10 days; otherwise, the parcel will be returned to the sender.
3. Using Counter Delivery
Some NZ Post outlets have a counter delivery service. This is a service that you do not need to sign up for – but there are less locations with this service available.
You can look up NZ Post Postshops close to you by checking the NZ Post website here. Just input the city you are in, and check that the listed post shop has ‘Counter Delivery’ available as a service at their location.

4. Get it sent to you
One of the significant advantages of using Private Box is that we can bring the mail to you. Each customer can forward mail with a free domestic (within NZ only) courier each month.
Ok, so this isn’t precisely “collecting” your mail. You can have it forwarded from Private Box to your current location. For more information about requesting mail forwarding, see this helpful article.
5. Read online
Private Box also provides an online mail scanning service to read your mail without collecting it in person. You can view, download, print and save it for future reference. All you need to do is go to your inbox, choose the mail, and click “scan”.
