This is a quick update on the mail processing delays we are seeing for our domestic and international mail.

Auckland

We continue to see delays across all of our partners – NZ Post / Courier Post, Post Haste and NZ Couriers. If we see a significant delay via one partner we try to funnel mail more into another partner channel. We have found Courierpost to be the least affected and have started moving most of our services to them.

If you have a time-sensitive parcel we do recommend having this delivered directly to our Wellington office to avoid Auckland congestion/delays.

To see your Wellington address log into your account and go to https://secure.privatebox.co.nz/mailbox, click “edit” under your Private Box address and then choose Level 1, 6 Johnsonville Road.

Australia

Delays into Australia are improving as more international flights become available to move freight with additional passenger numbers. You can still expect a delay of 7 days for most mail into Australia.

We have started working with DHL which have proved to be much faster (and more expensive) than NZ Post Express. If you wish to send an item using DHL you will need to email us to request this. We will add the DHL sending option to our web platform in the next few months.

Rest of NZ

Currently, we are only just starting to see delays starting to pop up in different places in NZ. We expect this to worsen over the next few weeks before it gets better.

We recommend using Courier to send all mail to have it tracked. Remember – you can send letters & large documents for free once a month in NZ using the courier service.

Rest of the world

This is constantly changing but we are seeing delays of around 1 week for courier items and 2-3 weeks for Airmail above the normal delivery targets. This is always changing so we do recommend you check https://www.nzpost.co.nz/contact-support/international-delivery-updates to see what delays might be affecting the destination you are sending to. We recommend using Courier to send items as you will be able to have the item tracked from start to finish.

Gareth
