Providing Photo ID

The following applies to Business customers.

Providing a photo ID is part of our identity verification process, which Private Box must complete as part of our compliance with New Zealand’s Anti-Money Laundering and Countering Financing of Terrorism Act 2009.

A valid photo ID is required to confirm your identity.

Types of acceptable photo IDs depend on the country from which your ID is issued.

If your country is not listed on this page, you can provide a copy of your passport or National ID Card. We may ask for your identity documents to be certified. Please take a look at Providing certified copies of documents for more information.

We will ask for an updated copy if your photo ID is unreadable or expired.

• Overseas passport or similar document issued for the purpose of international travel which:
  • Contains the name, date of birth, photograph and the signature of the person in whose name the document is issued; and
  • is issued by a foreign government, the United Nations or an agency of the United Nations
• a National Identity Card issued for the purpose of identification that:
  • contains the name, date of birth and a photograph of the person in whose name the document is issued and their signature or other biometric measure included where relevant; and
  • is issued by a foreign government, the United Nations or an agency of the United Nations
